Our Behavioural Consultation Services (BCS) program is designed to enhance the overall quality of life and independence of children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities by helping caregivers manage exceptional behaviour difficulties that are affecting an individual's daily life. Using the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), our Behaviour Consultants work collaboratively with families and community partners to deliver behaviour intervention supports in line with the individual's goals.Behavioural Consultation Services include:
Assessment of adaptive skills and functional assessment of behaviour
Assistance in the development, implementation, and evaluation of treatment plans and strategies based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis
Caregiver training in the use of behavioural strategies in the individual's natural system of supports
Group instruction, workshops, and training in treatment intervention strategies
Does not provide diagnosis

Eligibility
To be eligible for BCS Services, an individual must:
-Be currently living in Peterborough, City of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland or Haliburton
-Children ages 2-17 must have a confirmed diagnosis of an intellectual disability and exhibit exceptional behaviours
-Individuals 18 years of age or older must be deemed eligible by Developmental Services Ontario (please call 1 855 277 2121 to make a referral to DSO)
