Provides Christmas assistance for families in need and single households in Peterborough and the surrounding area.

  • Provides grocery gift cards for holiday meals.
  • Provides toys and gifts for children (ages 0-12)
  • Volunteers are always required to ensure the proper delivery of programming.
  • Donations of food, money or toys can be dropped off at the 219 Simcoes St. during operating hours.
  • Monetary donations can be received at the Community and Family Services office at 219 Simcoe St in the gray part of the building or call 705-742-4391 ext 8 or 257 for more details
  • Donations of food and toys can be dropped off at the first door of the Church at 219 Simcoe St, next to the gray part of the building. Please ring the doorbell and someone will be with you as soon as they are available.

Service Details

Public Comments Staff and volunteers will begin to take calls for the Christmas Assistance Program 2024 beginning Tuesday October 15, 2024. Please call 705-742-4391 ext. 2, leave a clear detailed message including your name and phone number. Someone will return your call as soon as possible. Please do not leave messages at any other extension. Leaving a message at another extension may risk your chance of receiving an appointment, if the message is missed or delayed.  
 
Pick up for Christmas will run Dec 9 - 20, 2024 between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm. 
 
Identification for all members of the household who are accessing the program will be required.  
 
Anyone wishing to donate food or toys can leave a message with the food bank at 705-742-4391 ext. 1.  
 
If you are looking to provide a monetary donation you can leave a message at 705-742-4391 ext. 8 or 257 or can be received at Community and Family Services located at 219 Simcoe St.
Hours Calls for Christmas Asistance will be received starting Oct 15, 2024. Please leave a message and someone will call you back as soon as possible.

Toy Shop and Grocery Card Pick Up: Dec 9 - 20, 2024.
Pick up at the marked door on Simcoe St, entering the main lobby of the church closest to the intersection of Simcoe and Aylmer St.

  • Applicants must apply by phone for an appointment
  • When applicants arrive for their appointment, they must have personal identification, identification for all family members, proof of current address and income verification for all adults living in the household
  • Due to limited space, missed appointments may not be rebooked
