Description

Description (Service) NIHB is a national program that provides coverage to registered First Nations and recognized Inuit for a specified range of medically necessary items and services that are not otherwise covered by other programs/plans. Provides coverage for the following medically necessary goods and services:
  • vision care
  • dental care
  • mental health counselling
  • medical supplies and equipment
  • prescription and over-the-counter medications
  • medical transportation to access medically required health services not available on reserve or in the community of residence
